Transformer-based speed controllers are used to control the rotational speed of single-phase electric motors only, in which it is possible to regulate the speed by changing the voltage. Multiple devices can be connected to one controller as long as their total load does not exceed the controller’s maximum capacity.

Transformer-based regulators can operate in a system, not just on a single device. The selection of the best option for a specific installation should be made by an experienced electrician or installer who can calculate the total load that the regulator will be subjected to. The device should not be too large or too small for the system it controls. An improperly chosen regulator will not only be uneconomical but also inconvenient for everyday use. In the case of choosing an aRo with too low nominal current, it will turn out that the resistance it applies is too small to affect the controlled installation. An oversized regulator will not render the device unusable, but it will only reduce the range of adjustment, which may be so small that the user will not be able to intuitively control it. We ask for caution and the use of professionals’ experience in electrical systems, as improper connections can be very dangerous for devices.
